Everything you need to know about DocEnsure's document verification platform, detection capabilities, security, integrations, and more.

All your questions, answered

What documents can DocEnsure verify?

DocEnsure supports Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, Salary Slips, Bank Statements, Educational Certificates (SSC, HSC, Degree, Diploma), Property Documents, and Legal Documents. Our AI adapts its 142 checks to each document type's specific structure, security features, and validation rules.

How does DocEnsure detect edited salary slips?

We use a multi-layered approach: Mathematical validation checks that Gross = Basic + HRA + DA, Net = Gross - Deductions, and PF ≈ 12% of Basic. PDF forensics detect editor tool signatures (iText, PDFtk, Foxit), incremental save markers (%%EOF), white-rectangle overlays, and content stream modifications. Font forensics flag when edited text uses different fonts than the original payroll-generated document.

Can DocEnsure detect AI-generated fake documents?

Yes. Our 6-signal neural forensic engine analyzes frequency spectrum (AI images lack natural sensor noise), noise residuals (AI produces uniform noise vs. varied real noise), color channel correlations (cameras produce correlated RGB noise), texture naturalness via LBP, JPEG compression artifacts, and PDF metadata. Documents from ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL-E, and Photoshop AI are flagged instantly.

How long does verification take?

DocEnsure processes each document in under 2 minutes, running 142 forensic checks across 11 categories: Visual Analysis, Signature Verification, Metadata Forensics, Image Forensics, Content Verification, Security Features, Database Verification, AI/ML Detection, Audit & Compliance, Document Liveness, and Biometric Verification.

What verdict levels does DocEnsure provide?

Every document receives one of four actionable verdicts: Clear (authentic, no action needed), Review Recommended (minor concerns, manual check advised), Suspicious (significant tampering indicators, don't accept without investigation), or Fraudulent (strong evidence of forgery, reject immediately). Each verdict includes detailed findings and specific next-step recommendations.

Which industries use DocEnsure?

DocEnsure is used by HR & recruitment firms for background verification, banks & NBFCs for KYC compliance, financial services for loan application verification, educational institutions for admission document checks, real estate companies for property document validation, and legal firms for evidence authentication.

How is candidate identity linked across documents?

DocEnsure automatically extracts name, DOB, PAN, Aadhaar number, and employee ID from each uploaded document using OCR and regex extraction. It then matches against existing candidate profiles using exact ID matching (PAN/Aadhaar), fuzzy name similarity (handles "Rahul S" vs "Rahul Sharma"), DOB correlation, and even filename analysis. Documents are automatically linked to the correct candidate profile.

How secure is my data?

Security is at the core of DocEnsure. All documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3. Documents are processed in isolated containers that are destroyed after verification. We support auto-deletion policies — you can configure documents to be permanently deleted after verification is complete. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 compliant cloud providers, and we never share your data with third parties.

Can DocEnsure work offline?

Yes. DocEnsure offers an on-premise desktop application that runs entirely on your local machine without requiring an internet connection. The desktop app includes all 142 verification checks, local AI models for fraud detection, and generates reports locally. This is ideal for organizations with strict data residency requirements or air-gapped environments. Contact us for the enterprise desktop license.

What file formats are supported?

DocEnsure supports PDF (native and scanned), JPEG/JPG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, and WebP formats. For best results, we recommend uploading original PDFs when available, as they retain internal structure data (fonts, metadata, content streams) that enables our deepest forensic checks. Scanned images are fully supported with OCR-based extraction and image forensics.

How accurate is the AI detection?

DocEnsure achieves 99% accuracy in detecting document fraud across our 11 detection methods. Our AI models are trained on hundreds of thousands of real and forged Indian documents. The false positive rate is under 2%, meaning legitimate documents are rarely flagged incorrectly. We continuously improve our models with new fraud patterns and document formats. Each detection method has been individually validated with precision and recall metrics above 95%.

Can it detect edited PDF amounts?

Absolutely. This is one of our strongest capabilities. DocEnsure detects edited amounts through multiple layers: PDF structure analysis finds white-rectangle overlays hiding original numbers, font forensics detects when replacement text uses a different font than the payroll system, math validation catches totals that don't add up, and metadata forensics identifies PDF editor tool signatures. Even if someone uses the same font, the incremental save markers and content stream modifications reveal the edit.

What happens if the scan quality is poor?

DocEnsure includes a quality pre-check stage that evaluates scan quality before running verification. If the document is blurry, skewed, poorly lit, or too low resolution, we flag it with specific quality issues and recommendations (e.g., "Re-scan at 300 DPI or higher"). For documents that pass the quality threshold, our OCR engine uses advanced image preprocessing — de-skewing, contrast enhancement, noise reduction — to extract text accurately even from imperfect scans.

Do you support bulk document verification?

Yes. DocEnsure supports bulk upload and batch processing. You can upload multiple documents for multiple candidates at once, and our system will automatically sort, categorize, and link them to the correct candidate profiles. The Professional plan supports 500 documents/month, and the Enterprise plan offers unlimited documents with priority queue processing. Bulk results are available as downloadable CSV/Excel reports.

Is there an API available?

Yes. DocEnsure offers a RESTful API for seamless integration with your existing systems — HRMS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), lending platforms, KYC workflows, and more. The API supports document upload, verification status polling, webhook callbacks for completed verifications, and full result retrieval in JSON format. API access is available on Professional and Enterprise plans. Comprehensive API documentation with code examples in Python, Node.js, and cURL is provided upon signup.
